I’m Monique and I live in a busy village in the South-East of England with my husband, two teenage sons and four cats.
Back in 2021, I decided that I wanted to start using my graphic design skills to create products that would help me take back control of my life. Raising two sons, one with autism and one with social anxiety disorder can cause our home to be interesting at times. I decided that I wanted to try and ensure that I was doing everything I could do to be the best support for the boys that I could be. That meant getting my life in order and developing and maintaining good habits, managing my finances well, eating and sleeping well, being willing to change and adjust things in our lives that weren't working, as well as also being intentional about enjoying life together so that the boys see the best of me and not someone stressed and not coping.
I learnt how to make digital planners after using bullet journals and discovered how much I love using them. I also learnt how to make trackers and journals, and have developed and tweaked them over the last few years. They are so much fun to both make and use. My art and design brings me so much joy and after designing a number of products that have made a significant difference in my life, I decided that other people might benefit from my creations also. And so, Fizz Whizz Designs was born. Why Fizz Whizz? Well, I might have to thank a big friendly giant for that as one of my all-time favourite children’s books is The BFG by Roald Dahl. A master of language and story telling, Roald Dahl books filled my childhood. The BFG is still one of my favourites and I still have at least 3 copies on my bookshelf.
Fizz Whizx Designs springs from a desire to help make your life a little more special and add some sparkle. In the same way as the phizzwizard dreams that the BFG so beautifully mixes in his dream cavern give children wonderful dreams, my hope is that my products will help in some small way to start making your life wonderful and cause you to dream big, whether through the enjoyment you get out of using them, or through the positive and lasting changes that they help you to make.
